Your Feet…..The Foundation for Your Body

Most people wouldn’t dream of building a new home on an unstable foundation. The foundation of a home or building is extremely important; it is more than just the platform that holds up the structure – it connects it and can have a profound effect on it as well. A strong foundation will help insure a stable structure while a poor foundation will cause headaches, a light wallet, and a host of other issues!

The same goes for your feet which act as the foundation for the rest of your body. However, your feet are unique in that they not only act as a foundation, they also carry the brunt of your entire body weight, and must also be flexible to allow you to move about. Because of this, it is important that they are stable and functioning correctly. In one foot alone you have 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, and 19 muscles and tendons. The 52 bones that comprise both feet account for 25% of the bones in your body. If any of these bones become misaligned this will cause dysfunction of the joints of your foot, which can then have a ripple effect throughout the rest of your body, potentially causing knee, hip, low back and even neck problems.

If you are experiencing foot or other structural problems, it is important to have it checked out. Dr H’Doubler has advanced training in detecting and correcting foot problems as well as other structural problems through out your body.
